i die

this has nothing to do with my life right now, because we're nowhere near having babies.
let me repeat that:
nowhere.
if wanting a baby right now is New York, we're in China.
they're loud and smelly and demand all of your attention and are just annoying.
not to say that i hate them [i do see their upsides], or that someday we won't have some [we actually want 5], but right now?
no no no thank you.

but just look at this:
i love seeing dads love their kids.
from here

seeing dads love their babies is just the sweetest thing to me.

one of the things i noticed first when i got to france was how many more dads i saw out walking with strollers or playing with their kids at the park or grocery shopping with their babies in a sling.
i hate that in america, it's mostly moms you see doing these things.
mostly mommy taking care of the kids, being the nurturer and the provider.
i know it's different in every family, and i'm not judging anyone,

but i'm just throwing it out there that i think the number one thing that will melt my little heart is when i see b someday in the [distant] future loving on our kids.

p.s. today was a kick ass day. i'll post about it in the morning, but just throwing it out there that jesus is just making my life turn out perfectly. y'all should be excited to hear about it.

oh dear... I melt too! I think it's a cultural thing but it's changing everywhere. Honestly I think the american society is still a bit sexist (no offense... this is what I get from shows we see here, like Oprah, The biggest loser, Tyra, Dr. Phill...) in a sence that the man is the family chef and wife is... well, the wife. Let me tell you that this country here, where I'm from, was like that (and more) till my parents generation. I'm not saying it's not like that anymore, but it changed a lot. Now, the couples from my generation act very differently. And you'll see men walking their childs, changing diapers... I mean, I don't get why in a wedding the newlyweds are presented like Mr. and Mrs. 'husband's name'... I'm Ines, and my husband is Francisco. That's who we are. One love. One family. Two equal persons.

My husband's grandma never let him iron a shirt. If she saw him doing it soon began to say "there is no woman in the house to do this?" and she proudly states her husband never had an headache over their children's behavior, cause she had them well educated. I guess that says it all!

I totally agree! I am single so definitely not close to having babies, but when I see men taking care of little kids, it melts me a little bit! - Alyssa

I literally get teary-eyed every time my husband talks to my belly--and I'm not even pregnant! We don't want kids right now either, but I can't help but want to see him with our baby. :)
