it's such a beautiful Friday morning here and i love it.
i'm sitting out in the sun, crossing things off my to-do list, keeping ben company while he landscapes my momma's front lawn.
life has been wonderful this week, ever since i got the dress incident all figured out. Ben saw it and he loved it and that's all i needed.
he's been a little worker bee all week, painting his parent's upstairs and now doing this for my mom, so i've just kinda been sitting around, keeping him company, doing important things of my own.
for example, i've read a whole bunch. sometimes i read big, life changing books, like The History of Love, but other times, to be honest, i just read $2 Nook romantic comedy books. sue me. you guys know that i love a cheesy love story. but i'm running out of Nook gift cards and it's time for a trip to the library, so if anyone has any good suggestions, let me know. i like anything except for scary books, both fiction and non-fiction.
we've also been getting ready for my bridal shower! it's this Sunday, and my sister, Jessa, has been a busy girl, finishing up her last week of classes and doing all of her maid of honor duties. yesterday, a few of the bridesmaids came over and we had a little crafting session all afternoon.
there was also some going to the Farmer's Market and catching up with an old friend yesterday, a little bit of running to train for my 5k [though i've been slacking this week], and some wedding planning. we're at the 35 day mark, people. i'm beyond excited.
all in all, it's been a good week. and now for the rest of today, all i have to do is find some good books at the library, go to a dress fitting for Jessa's MOH dress, and lay in the sun. not a bad gig. and this weekend, we're garage sale-ing with Ben's mom and sister and then having my shower on Sunday.
summer is here and i am loving it.

I don't read.
I'm kidding ... I love to read, but it's seriously been so long since I've sat down to read an entire book. I'll check back to see what others suggest because I need some ideas too!
That sounds like the perfect summer in the making!
It sounds like you've had a great week! Treasure all the moments of last minute planning for your wedding, it goes by so fast. Recently I really enjoyed The French Girl by Felicia Donovan--a quick, but pleasant read.
It sounds like you've had a blissful week! Perhaps you're beginning to achieve the elusive state of Wedding Zen?
I love The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and Frenchman's Creek by Daphne du Maurier. I think they both fit what you're looking for (if you haven't already read them). I used to work in a bookstore, so I love reccing books! What are some of your favorites?
